The law of electrical integration

When a prestigious commercial law firm in the capital moved to its new offices, a touch of electrical flair was needed to complement the clean modern architecture and striking interior design.

Project Summary

Full integration of all essential building services (KNX lighting control system, heating, blinds, AV, Access control) in this stylish office space was critical.  First impressions count.

Project Description

The challenge was to integrate the all the electrical service requirements into such a design ‘sensitive’ space with the simple usability that is required in a dynamic office space. KNX delivered a comprehensive solution from simple lighting control to the more complicated control of HVAC, AV, Window Blinds and Security/Access Control.

  • Visualisation & Display – All functions are controlled via 4x ABB Busch-Comfort Touch panels
  • Lighting – KNX control of all luminaires by constant brightness and motion
  • Windows – NV Comfort from WindowMaster regulates and adjusts internal air quality using an intelligent, computer-controlled system that harnesses the natural forces created by temperature differences outside and inside the building and by the effect of wind around the building.
  • Blinds – Venitian blinds lift and tilt to provide brightness control and privacy
  • Security – Jung Door Communication Management system

Customer Comment

We were suprised that there was such a comprehensive solution available. We had tried other systems in the past, but they were invariably not fit for such comprehensive applications. On every occasion we asked more of KNX the answer was, “Yes”. The end result is an excellent solution for the hospital, and has been operating faultlessly since being commissioned.” Hospital M&E Services Manager.
