How to Control A Variable Speed Fan Using KNX

All Theben KNX dimmers have a specific mode for controlling 230V variable speed fans and ventilation units.

This requires changing the load selection to fan (soft switching deactivated) on the dimming response tab. This will reveal a parameter called start-up time which is a delay to ensure the fan is at 100% speed before reducing to the required level.

This is a simple way to integrate traditional fans or modern whole house ventilation systems into a KNX project.
