Where Should Internal Temperature Sensors be Placed?

Try to avoid placing the temperature sensing device in the combination with other devices, particular any that have even a low heat output.
Do not install the temperature sensor near appliances that consume a significant amount of power or out put heat such as ovens, fridges, dishwashers.
Avoid radiators and cooling systems of any kind.
The temperature sensor should not be exposed to direct sun.
The installation of sensors on the inside of an outside wall might have a negative impact on the temperature measurement.
Make sure there is no pipe work in the wall behind the sensor.
Ideally temperature sensors should be installed away from windows, ventilation units or any excess air movement.
Temp sensing, particularly in rooms with convective heating such as radiators is best measured at or near head height, so around 1500 to 2000 ffl (finished floor level).
If climate control in a bathroom is required the Keypad will need to be in the room not on the wall outside. If this is not feasible it may be possible to link a separate temperature probe to the keypad or other bus device.
