GIRA - Secure KNX IP Router

Light + Building is always full of innovation and GIRA have once again lead the way with an update to the KNX IP router enabling the new standard of secure KNX IP communications.

So close was the cooperation with the KNX organisation that the release of the device is waiting on an update to the KNX programming platform ETS to version 5.5.  This update will allow all IP traffic to be encased in a secure envelope based on the encryption key from each IP Router. This ensures that KNX messages sent over IP cannot be intercepted or used to take control of a building.

Eventually this security will be extended to all KNX IP Routers and devices but for now the GIRA IP Router is the only developed solution.

Availability is pending the release of ET5.5 and final certification of the product by the KNX.org
